Sketch Card Artist for Topps Inc. and The Upper Deck Company
Sketch cards go by many names including Art Card, ATC (Artist Trading Card), or ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals). They are the same size as a trading card: 2.5 x 3.5 inches, though, occasionally trading card companies may use unique die-cut shapes or slightly wider stock.
The difference between a sketch card and a trading card, is that the artwork that appears on the card must be an original work that has been drawn or painted by hand and they are not reproduced or printed onto other cards, they are the only ones of their kind (1/1).
An Artist Proof, sometimes called an Artist Return, is a sketch card that the artist keeps or sells from their own collection. These are officially licensed works that are not included in the regular product on store shelves, and are often of higher quality than those included in boxes/packs. Artist Proof cards are a very limited, nearly perfect, special card direct from the artist, setting them apart from the normal hits.
